Communication and Computer Networks have become a necessity in our daily lives. The system consists of multiple interconnected computers, telephones, servers, routers, switches, wired networks, etc. Wired networks are relatively inexpensive to set up and take only a few hours to establish a connection between two or more computers.

Having multiple computers and a single Internet connection allows for network resources to be shared amongst all computers in the network. Wi–Fi networks allow for numerous devices to be connected at the same time, and each device can be seen by the other, so it is important to consider how to ensure the security of the network.

Security systems can be tailored to the network‘s operational requirements and how open or closed the system is intended to be. Ticket systems are a good solution, allowing access to the network for a period of time, either paid or free. In addition, computer networks offer many other advantages. Large files can be stored on one computer, saving considerable space. For example, a collection of MP3s, large videos and document files can be stored on the fraction of one computer.

It is also possible to share a printer between all the computers in the network. The simplest and most efficient way of doing this is through a peer–to–peer network, where all machines are both servers and clients and all have equal rights. It is important to have a computer network for numerous reasons. Firstly, it is a cost–effective way to share resources such as files, printers and internet access. Secondly, it enables faster communication between multiple devices. Thirdly, it provides increased security and privacy, as well as protection from malicious attacks.
